Dear Prime-Mates,
Hope you are all keeping warm through the winter months! We have been keeping busy with sell-out PrimeSpeak 3-Day Seminars across Australia (only a few spaces still available in Cairns and Sydney for 2009....) We hope to see some of you there.
In this issue of our e-newsletter we have some advice for the beginning of financial year and two soon-to-be-published articles available for you:

Don't let Dental Practice Fatigue ruin your retirement plans
[Soon to be published] Dr Phillip Palmer and Simon Palmer

|
Selling your practice can play a large and important part in a dentist's retirement nest egg. Unfortunately, while many dentists plan for this to be the case, the value of this asset often gets drastically reduced later on in a dentist's career by a phenomenon known as Dental Practice Fatigue.
Dental Practice Fatigue (DPF) doesn't hit a dentist all at once. Minimise the effects of flu season on your practice
[Soon to be published] Simon Palmer
 |

Most practices would consider employee sickness as an unavoidable part of having a business and just cope as best they can when it happens. The smarter business person may look at the negative impacts flu season has on their business and ways to put steps in place to minimise these...

Beginning of Financial year
|
The beginning of the financial year is a busy time for all businesses.
You need to do tax returns and give PAYG certificates to all employees, and do payroll tax reconciliation.
And if you didn't have enough to do at this time of year, July 1st is the time for the renewal of dentists' professional indemnity insurance and dental board registrations in Queensland, South Australia and the ACT.
It is a good Idea to check all dentists in your practice and ask for proof of their renewals.
Any dentist that doesn't have their renewals 'current' or up to date adds a considerable potential liability to themselves and their practices.
